What we pour
Driveways across Melbourne’s east and south east
Every driveway gets a proper base, mesh, expansion cuts and a drainage fall. The finish is up to you.
Plain concrete driveways
Broom or steel trowel finish, steel mesh reinforced, 25 MPa concrete. The most economical driveway and the easiest to maintain.
From $95 to $130 per m²
See plain concrete driveways
Exposed aggregate driveways
Decorative stone revealed at the surface and sealed after cure for colour and grip. The most specified finish for street-facing driveways.
From $130 to $185 per m²

Coloured concrete driveways
Oxide pigment through the full depth of the slab so the colour cannot wear off. Charcoal is the most common specification for Melbourne homes.

Rough price for your driveway
Melbourne rates, updated September 2026. A site measure firms it up to a fixed quote.
Process
From enquiry to a driveway you can park on
Enquiry
Call or send the form with the suburb and the type of driveway. A site measure is booked, usually within a few days.
Site measure and fixed quote
Dimensions, fall, access and drainage are assessed on site. A council crossover permit may be required for the street section. The written quote is fixed.
Preparation and pour
Existing surface removed and the area prepped, with base material brought in where needed. Mesh laid, crossover formwork inspected by council, then the pour. Most residential driveways are one day on site.
Cure and seal
Vehicles off for seven days. Exposed aggregate is sealed after the concrete has cured.

Specification
How our driveways are built
Two quotes can look the same on paper and be very different underground. This is what is included in ours. Full specification.
Preparation
The old surface removed and the area prepped, with base material brought in and compacted where the ground needs it. Preparation is where most cheap driveways fail.
Reinforcement
Steel mesh reinforcement and 25 MPa concrete, with a thicker slab and heavier mesh quoted where caravans and trucks will park.
Drainage
A fall away from the house, and a grated drain across the garage threshold where the block falls in.
Joints and cure
Control joints cut to direct any movement. Seven days before vehicles, and exposed aggregate sealed after cure.
Questions we get every week
How much does a concrete driveway cost in Melbourne?
Plain concrete runs $95 to $130 per square metre, exposed aggregate $130 to $185, coloured $115 to $160. A standard single driveway of about 45 m² lands between $4,500 and $8,500 depending on finish and whether an old driveway needs to come out.
Do I need a council permit for my driveway?
The driveway on your own land usually does not need one. The crossover, the section between the property boundary and the road, may require a vehicle crossing permit from your council. Requirements and fees vary by council.
How long does a driveway take?
A site measure is usually within a few days of enquiry. Once booked, a replacement driveway is typically two days on site, and vehicles can use it seven days after the pour.
